The J-Curve maps the ups and downs of daily life onto the story of Jesus. It grounds our journeys not in some abstract idea but in union with Christ and his work of love. Understanding our lives in light of the J-Curve roots our hope, centers our love, and tethers our faith to Christ.

We will be watching together the movie Just Mercy (PG-13) on Wednesday, July 1@ 6:15 PM at the home of John and Angie Tolfa.  It will be an opportunity for us to open up some dialogue as to some of the blind biases each of us may have with regard to racial injustices, cultivate our heart of faithful presence to a hurting community as well as begin to discuss ways we might continue to love those who are victims of inequality and hate.  Space is limited as we want to honor physical distancing concerns so please register here.

Our first event for the Summer is a Father’s Day cookout TODAY.  Dads, bring your favorite meats to grill and your favorite sauces and fixings to top them.  Your families are invited too!  The event will be held at Green Isle Park in Allouez from 5-7 PM where we’ll celebrate our dads by lighting their favorite protein on fire and enjoying some impromptu games, conversation and a prize for best-looking BBQ.

We’ll be gleaning from several books on the topic including The Art of Neighboring, The Simplest Way to Change the World, and Surprise the World: the Five Habits of Highly Missional People.

This is an opportunity to understand how the Gospel influences and shapes our understanding of living in a community among people who are like and unlike us as well as learning better the practice of hospitality.

We will talk specifically about how we tell our story and the role worship, grace and tables have in our “story telling.”

Part of our three month book studies as we build our core identity as a church, the book The Gospel Comes with a House Key by Rosaria Butterfield focuses in our third core value:  Faithful Presence in our Community.  The book looks at the role our homes and hospitality play in bringing people who have differing views from us as Christians with an ordinary, realistic view of the Gospel in the simple act of stepping foot into our homes.

After our worship service, we will head up to our host's home, David and Calista Troup, (5141 Edgewater Beach Road, weather permitting) and enjoy some summer BBQ fare, splashing in Green Bay and soaking up the last week of Summer.   Everyone is invited to attend and encouraged to bring your favorite summer side dish to share (potluck sign up here).  

Plan also to bring old shoes or water shoes along with your suit for swimming as well as a camp chair for sitting!

Adults of All Saints, join us for a night of casual conversation at Noble Roots Brewing Company where we will have the chance to tap into a featured brew and enjoy some time recalling our recent Summer memories and making more in the process.

Part of our three month book studies as we build our core identity as a church, the book Reset: Living a Grace-paced Life in a Burnout Culture by David Murray focuses in our second core value:  Grace-dependent Discipleship.  The book confronts some of our motivations for being "busy" and works to help us practically adjust the pace of our lives in light and line with the Gospel.
